This is my all time favorite notebook. Personally- it’s worth every penny. I take this thing everywhere! It gets written in, taped, glued, stuffed in my backpack, dropped and spilled on… and it takes it all in stride! It gathers a great “worn” look and lays flat no matter what!I’m actually about to purchase another!!I've carried these for over 15 years; wouldn't be without one in my work. Clean lines, high quality paper, absorbs ink well.Does not contain the useful information it once did. The redesign is ugly.Love these note books, I will never go back to spiral or marble notebooks. About the dimensions of an iPad mini, it is functional, tasteful, and fits in a backpack or briefcase easily. Red tassel book mark is excellent feature. Works great at meetings. Will purchase on Amazon next.GOOD productI ordered these in good faith, not expecting that the interior would not have been changed without being declared, The maps and useful information were valued. Not to have them is a loss but to fill the end pages with self-help inspirational quotations is to completely miss the point of what made the Black and Red books attractive (as a quality, serious item). I feel embarrassed to be walking round the workplace with such claptrap - as though I am promoting it, or in need of it to keep me going. Where I can I get old stock?Why have they started selling these solid and useful books covered in meaningless and childish "motivational" quotations? It's embarrassing - we are not all Californian boosters. How to ruin a perfectly good product with childish nonsense. As example "The first step is to take one" plastered on the front, and "the secret of getting ahead is getting started" on the inside leaves. Really, why not leave it plain and if people feel the need to spout nonsense on their stationery, let them do it themselves. This should be made clear on the marketing and it is not - the pictures on the product detail show a plain book. Misleading, irritating and embarrassing.My go to notebooks for writing notes I know I will read/use in the long term for work. Good hardback, excellent bind quality, and fab quality paper that means no ink seeps through to the next page. Yes you can buy cheaper notebooks but the quality of this is great and if you want somewhere to write notes that stay great for years to come this is the notebook for you.I have been using Oxford Black n' Red Notebooks for many years. I get through about 10 notebooks each year in my work.Sadly, Black n' Red recently felt the need to add "inspirational quotes" to their notebooks. Quite frankly, I find these trite and unnecessary. Why tinker with a design classic? It's like putting bumper stickers on a Rolls Royce!These notebooks are good value. The Optik paper is acid free so they are suitable for archival use and binding quality is very good indeed.Optik paer performs exceptionally well with fountain pen inks. It allows the inks shading to come through as well as the brightness of the ink colour.What has annoyed me greatly is that this, my latest purchase has a big sticker on the front with some time management slogan on it. Something about doing things today. Additionally, the inside cover and fly leaf had more time management quotes. The inside ones were not so intrusive, but the large front cover sticker was difficult to remove and left the front cover somewhat marked.I buy these for formal use and do not want childish time management prompts.Such a shame.
